Job Title: Head Grower – Greenhouse Section

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive, hands-on, and experienced Head Grower to lead our Greenhouse Section in a state-of-the-art aquaponics facility in Oman. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in plant nutrition, deficiency identification, disease and pest management, water quality management, along with greenhouse and hydroponics experience. Aquaponics experience is desirable. This leadership role requires an energetic professional who can work across diverse functions, lead a team, and manage all aspects of crop production in a controlled environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all greenhouse crop production activities with a strategic approach to maximize yield, quality, and operational efficiency.

  • Monitor plant health daily, identify deficiencies, diseases, and pests, and implement effective IPM (Integrated Pest Management) protocols.

  • Manage and optimize nutrient management plans, especially in hydroponic and aquaponic systems.

  • Operate and oversee the use of automated machinery for seeding, germination, harvesting, packing, nutrient delivery, and pest control.

  • Document and report production data, observations, and results in a structured and timely manner.

  • Coordinate and correspond with internal departments for planning, procurement, and logistics.

  • Train and supervise greenhouse staff; delegate tasks and monitor performance.

  • Develop crop schedules, yield projections, and growth strategies based on seasonal and environmental factors.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and biosecurity standards.

  • Stay updated with new trends and technologies in controlled environment agriculture.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in greenhouse crop production, preferably in hydroponics or aquaponics.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science, or related field.

  • In-depth knowledge of plant physiology, plant nutrition, pest/disease identification, and treatment.

  • Experience working with automated systems and equipment in a greenhouse setting.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.

  • Proficient in documentation, reporting, and correspondence.

  • Ability to work flexibly across various roles and adapt to operational needs.

  • High level of physical activity; must be physically able and energetic.

  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and take initiative in a dynamic work environment.
