I just saw on LinkedIn that Integrated Aquaculture in Hekpoort is closing after 13 years. The author noted: “What we achieved was not a ‘failed business’ — it was a completed pilot of a new agricultural vertical. The failure point was not biology, engineering, or economics, it was a political environment with no understanding of economic development.”
Maybe this is an opportunity for the Assoc to provide support by providing “lessons learned” and/or doing some advocacy work to address obstacles that may hinder similar aquaponics ventures?
